Mission
The Intense Intestines Mission:
Our goal is to help and connect those with Inflammatory Bowel Disease through unique social media and events. We’ll combine the thrill of activities like hiking, climbing, skiing, kayaking and other activities/events with charitable efforts to advance awareness for Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis.
During these activities patients and their supporters will learn about themselves and have the opportunity to connect and share stories with others. We’ll help form a community of individuals empowered to fight IBD conditions and live active, fulfilling lives. While forming this community we’ll be helping to fundraise for the Intense Intestines Scholarship.
The Intense Intestines Scholarship is designed to help young adults and IBD sufferers through their college years due to the overall rising costs of higher education.
During his early 20′s, Intense Intestines founder Brian Greenberg discovered a love for the outdoors and adventure sports. At this time in his life, he was in remission from Crohn’s, but was still learning how to deal with his condition.
Brian found that being able to adapt to any situation during his adventures gave him a unique perspective on how to deal with IBD. Now he wants to share what he learned so others can adapt and deal with their IBD with the same positive attitude and outlook.
The charity currently hosts a social and support networking site for those with Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis to help patients affected with IBD connect. Starting in the Northeast region, Intense Intestines Foundation will also host adventures and events to drive awareness for IBD. We’ll organize outdoor events with special accommodations for IBD patients.
The I.I.F. will also provide young adults with the Intense Intestines Scholarship, designed to help IBD sufferers through their college years with rising costs of higher education.
