We’re thrilled to say that our first event was an amazing success. Everyone who attended the Climb for Crohn’s & Colitis had a great time. We gave out a ton of prizes in the raffle, had some great auction items that raised money for the I.I.F.’s cause, the climbing went perfectly, and the after party was a good time for all.
One of the highlights of the event was Brian’s documentary, which everyone was talking about the rest of the night after it was shown. Brian mentioned that many people were coming up to him to discuss how amazing and inspirational his story was. They talked about how much they learned from Brian being so open about many aspects of IBD that people don’t discuss. This was a great example of why we’re doing the Never Stay Quiet campaign. The I.I.F. wants to educate others about Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, and ostomies more.
Some of the best news of the night was that the event raised $3,763. For our first event we’re very happy about almost reaching the $4,000 mark. This is just the beginning to jump start the I.I.F. and help us to reach our goal of helping as many patients with Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis and ostomies.
We’d like to thank all those that helped us hold our first event again. Thanks to The Rock Club, Diageo, WJ Deutsch & Sons, The North Face, Eastern Mountain Sports, Rinaldi’s Deli & Grill, Mama Carmela’s Deli, Philips, and DTE Photoworks. Also a special thanks to all the volunteers that came out to assist us in our first event. It wouldn’t have been a success without you.
Now we’re already looking ahead to our second event on July 28th. The Comedy for Crohn’s & Colitis will be held at the Dressing Room Theater in the Sterling Farms complex in Stamford, CT. More details will be coming soon, but for now please save the date for some great laughs with Chris O’Neill and Paul Valenti of the Chris & Paul Show. Remember laughter is the best medicine.
